You may look around at people in central London and get an idea as to why. In capital spaces, you can glimpse at two sides of the same coin. While one side is filled with civilized lives, all-night crowd pubs, and chic coffee bars. The other is filled with throngs of ex-pats, mutant suicides, and a game of Russian roulette taking place.

If you are not familiar with the capital’s Nightlife scene, at first glance it may seem like madness, or perhaps a waste of time, but if you know the people that inhabit the area, the scene is a literal labor of love. People serve you themselves, they ask about your life, they talk to you about their issues, in that way you as a human being can only understand them. These people make serving tea safe and work well alongside us, it is a boost to the bars and pubs that run late nights with a happy crowd, they hold our hand, and bring us in and out of the business.

Stepping out at a late-night in central London is a bit like traveling around town in a video game with a group of friends and you stop long enough to make chit chat with someone, but it’s the people that we see dancing, that love the nightlife, that make each of us giddy.

The pressure to see the streets are full of people is unbearable and the city is nowhere near as enchanting as the people that do get to the place. It’s not necessarily seeing people dancing, but seeing women on chunky heels and a flimsy dress with high heels that make it hard to dance.

During my day’s walk around town, I sometimes encountered people that were looked at as exotic or a bit random. We know one day we will meet some of them, but in the interim we can almost observe the city from the window of our apartment, it’s fun to be a part of the city’s little magic, don’t you think?

Not quite.

Instead of hiding, and cheering on our friends from being heroes to us in the world, we become an outcast, and indeed all the city seems to do is protect us.

Looking at the outsiders we form a community of our own, or even in smaller ways, we form our little community, where we all flock back to when a friend is struggling. We’re all pretty journies, that’s for sure.

The experience of staying in London at night is what ends up being alienating. Just imagine having to spend a night in a house and no other units within the neighborhood you have left behind. You look at the big glass doors and you don’t see anything, not even anyone. In my apartment, I’ve barely ever seen anyone walking from one house to another, because the living space is always empty.

Why is that? The room it’s created seems really empty, like the turning of the page on some kind of mystical history, I think this is exactly why the city allows us to be, making it feel so alien. But the city is also very welcoming, so until you actually start meeting other people you’re an outcast.

While not everyone sees it as a good thing, anyone who does, also knows what it is. For me, I like being isolated by the rest of the world, as it gives me somewhere to hide. Even when I am part of the team I still spend a lot of time alone. It is exhausting being part of a team after you’ve been a part of one for ages, what happens?

I don’t think I would have been able to handle it if I had been involved in the rest of the team that got through my college experience. My friends are from different places and have different jobs. One of my colleagues is in the Government for me to go through, but my other colleague is a musician and we could play a good party game together.

Beings apart from the group are only good for sleep deprivation, lets face it, when you are falling asleep in an empty room in the morning it is not the greatest experience. In fact, I would not imagine anything worse than being up before daylight wakes you up.

But overall, that’s something I wouldn’t change. I get very bored of being a complete recluse when it comes to late nights, I enjoy it.
